We just said goodbye to Ethan, the first hire in our new intern program.
This was a great experience for me and for my team! Our office was so lucky to have met Ethan, and for him to be our first intern. He helped us to pave the way for a program that will offer students an opportunity to learn on-the-job training. While Ethan has his sights set on furthering his education and a career path, he admitted this was great exposure to a busy office environment.
Establishing an intern program at Madrona Point Insurance has been one of my long-time goals. Our agency recently filed with Washington State/L&I and with Parent/School Authorization, and earlier this month we were approved to hire minors as interns. We developed our own on-the-job training program to offer students career experience and allow them to develop skills they can carry forward and add to their resume.
As he heads back to school for his senior year, Ethan has set a high bar for interns in our office – the next one will have big shoes to fill!
